More than two years of development have resulted in the best & first ice bath of the Benelux More than 2 years we have been working on the creation of the first Icetub of Dutch soil. 2400 hours at the design table, more than 200 sketches, countless sleepless nights, more than enough mistakes, 15 eureka moments, several concepts worked out, 20+ tested baths and far too many cold shivers. The ice bath was completely made, designed, and developed in the Netherlands. Everything is in our own hands, a product we are proud of and of which we still have the production process completely in our own hands.
Icetubs is located in Badhoevedorp Badhoevedorp is the place where it all comes together. Our in-house production team is working hard to put all the parts together. They insulate the tub and assemble all the components to create an ice bath that rocks. All to guarantee quality! Our Icetubs are personally delivered by Jesper. Icetubs and partners As your big toe touches the ice-cold water, everything in your body contracts. Stepping into an ice-cold bath, why would you do that? Yet you mentally find the strength and persevere. You step completely into the cold and that is incredibly good for you. We know that, but so do our partners! We are now proud partners of a number of large parties in the Netherlands. Such as the Ministry of Defence, Sportrusten (also partner of Wim Hof), the Romei and Nelissen training.
Developing the first ice bath by Icetubs Somewhere in Amsterdam, the idea for Icetubs came about during a session with a breathing coach. We stepped into ice-cold water and felt as if we had been reborn. We could take on the whole world. This is something that everyone must experience, though not in an inflatable bath with ice cubes, but a bath that cools itself. Read here about the development of the first Dutch ice bath. Two years of drawing and developing And turning that idea into a real ice bath took two years. Starting with brainstorming, networking and developing ideas. Everything was focused on that one ice bath. Not just one, but the best we could conceive and made in the Netherlands. A process that took more than two years. With a budget and the right people, such as a product developer, marketers and managers. The perfect recipe for creating an ice bath of this caliber. After more than 2400 hours at the drawing board, more than 200 hours drawing and many sleepless nights, we were finally able to make a mold.
Dragon Plastics Zeeland After we had the mould made, we launched the quest for a company that could turn that mould into an ice bath for us. And, not least important, a company in the Netherlands. Our patience was sorely tested. We exchanged emails, talked on the phone and drank coffee with all sorts of companies. What was the result? It would be possible to make an ice bath for us, but it would be very difficult, and so we received quite a few negative answers. The launch date kept being pushed back. Until we came across Dragon Plastics in Zeeland. It was bold enough to give it a try, and in June this year, started developing our tub.
By July, the first tubs had ar
rived in Badhoevedorp. The product developer and production team turned the tub into a real ice bath: the Icetub. But this was far from straightforward. Despite the fact that we all saw things through rose-coloured glasses, we also had to overcome quite a number of setbacks. Dents in the tub, issues that certainly did not help a tight schedule. In July and August, a lot of overtime was put in. Working lat into the night for days on end. More than 20 Icetubs were assembled, disassembled again and tested. On 1 September, everything came together perfectly and we were able to deliver the first Icetub to Koen de Jonge (co-author with Wim Hof of The Way of the Iceman).
