THE EDITING PROCESS We utilize a relatively standard process to editing existing narratives—no matter the topic, scope, or level. For that matter, there are four primary steps (or phases). First, all grammar and spelling errors are identified and corrected. Second, the fundamental problems with phrasing, word choice, run-on sentences, passive voice, comma splices, capitalization issues, appropriate paragraph length, pronoun or tense consistency, etc. are addressed or noted for future reference in the editing and revision process. Third, a review of the text will ensure the logic of the narrative is intact, flows well, and paragraph transitions are in place. The final phase tackles the overall composition, and ensuring the overall tone, style, and quality is appropriate for the writing level (high school, versus college or graduate school), identifying whether the narrative adequately answers the prompt/instructions or purpose. For that matter, the narrative is revised accordingly. This entire process is conducted within the “Track Changes” mode of Microsoft Word so all the proposed revisions can be readily identified. We call these versions “Red-lines” because the changes often appear in red or blue. The final work product includes all Red-lines (often five or more . . . representing each revision phase) and the final “clean” copy where we’ve “accepted” all the proposed changes.

Over 93% of our clients have gained admission into either their Top Choice or a Top 50 College based on U.S. News and World Report rankings.  And 100% of their admissions essays (Personal Statements) were beautifully crafted and grammatically flawless submissions that seamlessly articulated how and why the student would be a remarkable addition to their campus.
